A little test: Making a post from my self-hosted Ghost blog appear on Lemmy
In the past couple of days, I've put up posts on this Ghost blog that are visible on Mastodon and BlueSky.
In theory, if I tag a Lemmy community, such as @selfhost@lemmy.ml that might make this post pull across to Lemmy. At least, in theory.
I'm keen to see if that actually happens.
At a deeper level, this might be a way of achieving something that I think could be very useful, and that's a blog that integrates with a message board, where all blog posts (or articles) appear as message board threads. And then all comments on that post appear as message board posts.
This is something that a website called Netslaves had running on its custom content management system back in the early 2000s. But I haven't seen it done well since.
In theory, if this works, it would allow for a setup where I have a self-hosted blog and message board (using something like Discourse, Lemmy, or Piefed). All blog posts, as long as they're tagged, automatically appear on that discussion forum.
On a separate note, I've temporarily turned on comments to see if comments from the Fediverse appear as comments on my blog.
And, finally, some hashtags: #Ghost #selfhost #selfhosting #selfhosted #Lemmy
